The high desert of Santa Fe has been calling to me so I followed the gypsy winds home.
My plants arrived happy and healthy and have welcomed several new additions to our family. I've unpacked and settled in. And my new studio, with an amazing view of the mountains, is set up and ready for me to get to work.
I've slipped back into life in Santa Fe as though I never left.
I believe there are some places your soul recognizes as home and Santa Fe is that place for me.
There’s a mystique to Santa Fe that engages all the senses and is impossible to explain. It’s the simple things of everyday life… the warmth of sunlight on an adobe wall in spring, the crystal blue skies in summer, the breathtaking colors of the cottonwoods and aspens in autumn, and the smell of piñon and juniper smoke in winter. There’s a reason why so many artists call Santa Fe home. It’s hard not to be inspired every time you step out your door.
Earlier this year, I started the Magic in the Desert: Santa Fe Reflections series as a way to exorcise my homesickness. But they ultimately led me home. Never underestimate the healing power of art.
